Tony Feher Catalogue
The twenty-five-year survey of Tony Feher’s work, currently on view at deCordova, represents the first comprehensive, in-depth consideration of the artist’s career. Feher’s works are composed of everyday materials that generally play a passing role in our lives. He does not seek so much to transform as to accentuate the inherent characteristics of his artistic tools, to enable us to appreciate their value and beauty, or simply to see things differently and anew. His creative process is driven by an incessant quest for moments of clarity, beauty, and quietude.
Published in conjunction with this major retrospective exhibition organized by the Blaffer Art Museum that has traveled to deCordova, this is the first publication to explore work from throughout the artist’s significant and influential career. This comprehensive book reproduces his many sculptures, site-specific installations and two-dimensional works and includes major texts on Feher’s practice by Blaffer Director Claudia Schmuckli and curator and writer Russell Ferguson. Beautifully realized by renowned New York design studio Matsumoto Incorporated, this publication is the definitive book on the work of this important American artist.
